Jamie going to grab the chicken head in the yummy hot pot lunch we had for his birthday. They chop up the whole (skinny) chicken and put it into the boiling hot and sour soup that stays cooking at your table during the meal. In the Chinese tradition, birthday boy treats the guests. (Later we went by the US tradition and Jeff and I treated Jamie to a delicious dinner of wine-soaked winter melon and Yunnan spicy beef.) Bar-hopping was of course a necessity for a complete 21st. We had some Tsingdao and Dali beers, Stoli (cheap here!), and my favorite, a cocktail called Red Star Over China at some pretty interesting Chinese bars.
